POWER MOMS

The focus of the Power Moms Project is to strengthen mothers to cope better with personal problems and parenting difficulties.

The Power Moms course includes four modules:

  • Module 1: Mattering – “I am a person of value; therefore, I can add value to my family and community”

 

  • Module 2: Mothering – Parenting skills and healthy relationships

 

  • Module 3: Managing – Resilient coping (Effective dealing with personal conflict and community challenges)

 

  • Module 4: Mentoring – Mother act increasingly as positive role-models in their families and wider community

 

The Power Moms Course is presented in 20 weekly sessions by a trained Power Mom facilitator. Each session of two hours follows a specific structure

The structure

  • Warm Welcome
  • Ice breaker to activate positive emotions, such as joy and curiosity
  • Feedback about mothers’ application of previous session’s information
  • Code of Conduct (character strengths)
  • Content of session
  • Practical activity
  • Good-bye Blessing
