The latest census shows that education levels in Delft are worse off than other areas or the average of the Western Cape. The biggest concern is the Higher Education statistics for people aged 20+, with only 3% achieving higher education status.

WELL-BEING
Delft is one of the 20 most high-risk South African communities – Stats SA, 2011. A high-risk community is an area that lacks adequate infrastructure, resources, employment opportunities, and economic activity. Specific risks in the Delft area are high levels of crime, gangsterism and gangster-related violence, dysfunctional families, domestic violence, abusive drinking, murder, rape, school dropouts, and poverty.
